Over on gymrats today, someone said, hey everybody, let's all post our pictures. And I did. But I don't think people really appreciated where I've come from to get to the body I have now. I am super proud of my body, but when I hold it up for mainstream inspection, then I get to remember that, oh yeah, I am funny looking by their standards.

So I thought, don't I also belong to an LJ community for transmen who like to do sporty stuff? Maybe they'd get it. So I'm reposting the picture I put up on gymrats, with more info than I gave there, and now in retrospect, should have. I'm 34 years old. I am 5'7" and weigh about 182 lbs. I've been lifting free weights since around the time I started transition, ten years ago. I am currently very active, ride my bike to work year-round, lift two or three days a week, do yoga and Pilates. I have lots of energy, eat well, and am happy. (Except that today my mouth is killing me from dental work. Ow.)

I have talked to people about my weight loss and they all ask.... what's your secret??????
Well UM is my guru and she has shown me what I am about to tell you  so..... pass it around and let's get fit.

No secrets really.....
      just do at least 30 mins cardio 3 times a week, more if you can stand it.
Also try to do some stretching and crunches for your core muscles. 
     You don't have to kill yourself with working out, but be sure to break a little sweat and elevate your heart level.
If you have access to a pool, that is some of the best fat burning exercise around, and it is low impact.

As for the diet:

breakfast  4 eggs with 6 oz. protein (chix pref)

lunch      6 oz. Protein with green veg and 1 cup brown rice

Dinner     8 oz. protein with veg

don't use a lot of condiments and if you eat salad, vinegar and oil.

Be real strict for the first 2 weeks,
 after that you can incorporate a bran muffin with breakfast and an occasional fruit snack (apple or banana) between meals..

It takes dicipline and will power, but after the first 2 weeks, 
      you will be so motivated by the energy you have and weight that is coming off, 
you won't want to cheat.
